Women who are imprisoned while pregnant have particular health and nutrition needs. So, it is the duty of Human Dignity Tanzania to work with donors and the prison warden of the specific prison to see how pregnant women will be supported both mothers and babies need to be considered in relation to pregnancy so childbirth, breastfeeding and post-natal care in prison must be looked at for the benefit of motherhood and child development.
Children in prison with their mothers can be those children who accompany their mothers when they are in prison, or those who are born in prison because the mother was imprisoned while she was pregnant. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding in prison have particular health problems and/or nutritional needs. Since it is it is difficult to maintain children in prison. Human Dignity Tanzania together with any willing partners would like to create home care for the children inside prison so that they can be separated from their mothers and live outside prison normal at home care
Whilst problems such as overcrowding, poor hygiene, and inadequate visiting facilities affect both men and women prisoners, there are many concerns that are specific to women, or which affect women prisoners in a different or particularly harsh way.
