In prison programs should provide comprehensive educational programs, treatment programs, and pre-release rehabilitative programs for inmate while in prison. Upon release, ex-convicts find themselves in the same circumstances that potentially contributed to their illegal activities in the first place, and to their arrest. That is why it is crucial to think ahead and to prepare prisoners for their reintegration into society. Human Dignity Tanzania is aiming to work with Tanzania prisons service in teaching prisoners' vocational skills which they can practice in work schemes during their sentence, and which can help them find work upon their release. Also since after serving their term in prison, many inmates go through a series of mental health issues. This experience is highly traumatic for many of them. Getting back to “normalcy” is extremely difficult and requires a lot of care and support. At Human Dignity Tanzania, we are aiming to develop the Inside Prison Program that aims to reform inmates (female). These interventions will enable and equip them to earn a living for themselves post their release. This effectively results in better well-being of the inmates and in turn reduces further crime after their release. The provision of work programmes in prisons is one of the most effective ways to support prisoners' successful reintegration into society, providing them with income and with relevant skills to find employment and help reduce their recidivism
