The Reintegration & Rehabilitation Program enables released inmates to embark on a new journey by putting their prison life behind them. The aim of this program is to help the inmates recognize their talent and strengthen their self-respect. This reduces the chances of reoffending and in turn, helps them smoothly reintegrate back into society. Ex-convicts around the world face rejection and social adaptation issues, however through our organization Human Dignity Tanzania, we are looking forward to helping ex-convicts in reintegrating back into society by learning some skills and techniques for reintegrating into the community. Because we do believe that sometimes, rejection and stigmatisation could force ex-convicts to repeat crimes such as theft, burglary and robbery to survive. As we know, serving a term in prison can be very traumatic and can drastically affect the mental well-being of the inmates. This program aims to rehabilitate and shape the minds of the inmates by making them self-sufficient, showing the positive aspects of life and newer possibilities. This will be done through support ex-convict women with the sewing machine to set up a tailoring business and also give them skills like how to make cream, antiseptics, and soap.
